Doctor Debbie took a look at Buffy’s foot this evening.
The diagnosis: Buffy has had some kind of blunt force trauma, but…and here’s the good part…her foot is not broken. Buffy has been curling her toes in and out, which not only disproves a break (or, at least, a debilitating one) but also rules out a tendon or ligament tear. Phew! Debbie feels that it may be as few as three days before Buffy can start going out for day trips to be with her flock, minimising loss of status.
We’re at a loss as to what happened. Perhaps something heavy fell on her foot in the barn. Is it a coincidence that I found her egg from yesterday broken on the floor next to The Hideaway? Are the two related?
In any event, there are more of the red-black marks on her foot, evidence of sub-cutaneous bleeding. Whatever hit her, she was hit hard.
She’s eating, and with some gusto; she’s drinking, although not as much as I’d like. She’s not moving much, but she’s compos mentis. She’s had a big poop, and that’s always a good thing.
This has been the Buffy Report. Good night.
