Here is the lean-to I threw together for 2.0’s dining al fresco pleasure:

It’s just so bad, it’s good, right? And, see? I wasn’t kidding about it all being held together by a plastic dog dish:

  1. I really like the can do mentality. I look at raising chickens as being about self-sufficiency and making do with what you got is a big part of that.

    • AMEN. Although I’m not sure the pink gazebo qualifies as “making do”. But, hey…if they’re alive and well at the end of the day, I say it works.

  2. I did the same thing for my broodies and their babies :) It looks awful, but it works. I’m more worried that my broodies are going to attack my goslings and older chicks than about harm to their own brood :P

    I can’t say I secured it with a dog dish though! Bravo! lol
