Mother Nature (with more than a little help from man) has saddled the poor domestic chicken with the task of egg laying. This amounts, essentially, to childbirth, almost every day. You’d think she’d at least cut the hens some slack, and have the narrower, pointier end of the egg exit the hen first, so the process might be a gradual one.
Nope. Chickens lay eggs big end first. OUCH.
